CONSUMERISM IN INDIA: A CRITICAL ANALYSIS

The 12th International Conference on Consumer Law, organized under the auspices of the International Association of Consumer Law was organised by the NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad on February 25-27, 2009. The theme of the conference was “Consumer Law- Globalisation, poverty and Development ”.
Mrs. Parna Mukherjee and Mrs. Madhuri Parikh, Lecturer, Institute of Law, Nirma University of Science & Technology, Ahmedabad have participated and presented a paper entitled "Consumerism in India: a critical analysis".

About the Library

The library is the heart of any academic institution and plays an important role in all academic activities and more so in law institutions. Keeping in view the aims and objectives of the Law School, the library has been planned and is being developed by a team of qualified professional library staff and guided by the Library Council. It has a collection of over 4000volumes covering a wide range of general and special subjects consisting of text books, reference books, back volumes of journals and reports etc., apart from legal periodicals. Library is subscribing 45 print journals. It is also subscribing online database like Manupatra and INDLAW and have good collection of CD-ROM Database.
The library has adopted an open access system so as to facilitate readers to have easy access to the library resources. To assist the students and research scholars in locating literature as well as information in their areas of research, general reference, current awareness and computerized catalogue by using Alice for Windows Software have been introduced. An orientation programme for new students is also organized to help them acquaint themselves with the library system and services for maximum utilization of the available resources.
